Neil Hansen attended Illinois State University with a concentration in kinesiology, biomechanics, and exercise physiology. After obtaining his personal training certificate from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in 1994, Neil joined a private training facility in Hinsdale, IL. There he spent five years training clients one-on-one, ranging from youth to seniors, in areas from general health and weight loss to performance enhancement.
Since opening his current health and wellness business in 2000, Neil's path of learning and growth has led him to extended forms of continuing education. In March 2003, Neil completed a comprehensive 10-month internship in MAT (Muscle Activation Techniques) in Denver, Colorado. In early 2004, Neil's internship concluded with a final exam, granting him prestigious accreditation as a MAT Certified Specialist. Entering on the ground floor of this cutting edge technique, Neil is one of only 300 MAT certified specialists in the world, and one of just of a small number in the Chicagoland-area.
In addition, Neil has gone through the practical and lecture sessions of the Resistance Training Specialist (RTS), which focuses in depth, on the physics of human movement.
Realizing that getting in shape and having a healthy, pain-free body took not just the physical steps of working out and doing MAT but also the alignment of the emotional being to get real long lasting results, Neil started studying many forms of mental and emotional programs. Over the course of the past seven years, Neil has become level two certified in Emotional Freedom Techniques; has taken many different courses offered by Landmark Education; attended many introspective courses, lectures and seminars for interpreting thoughts and emotions; gone through extensive quantum physics retreats and seminars; and has studied many of the great spiritual leaders of our time, past and present.
In addition to his RTS and MAT training, Neil acquired his Life Coaching Certification from Coach Training Alliance (CTA) in December of 2006. Since becoming certified, Neil has been working with clients, both locally and across the states, to help them create a true vision of what they want and to help remove the road blocks that stand in their way from success-both in regard to the body and in life. In the time since he started coaching, Neil has been working steadfast on releasing his first book The Thought Diet - The Mental Steps to Achieving the Body You Want.
Having an array of education from many sources allows Neil to bring together all forms of thoughts and insights, which he brings forth in his book as well as in seminars.
